Hi, i just got my new dell studio 1555, its pretty sweet, haven't gamed yet or anything but i love the look and the feel to it.

I have a problem tho, theres a dead pixel in the middle of my screen. Except that its not like a discrete pixel thats dead, its more like a blackened blurry area...

What do you call that? Is there a way i can fix it? Thx for information.

mm.. u might wanna turn it off 1st n check whether the surface is still perfectly flat in the blurry area? just to rule out external damage

It might be stuck pixels and you may be able to fix it by massaging it . If the panel is tight then I would give Dell a call and setup a return or repair

its definitely not something stuck to the screen, or external, the panel is perfectly smooth to the touch and everything, but there is a still a darkened blurry 'splotch'.

In fact it even 'moves' when I orbit my head around my screen

Maybe you've got a stuck pixel in your retina. :p

Seriously though...any chance of getting a picture to post here?

Yeah i'll try and get some pics up.

What I mean is that it moves with respect to the underlying (or over-lying) pixels (based on my change in perspective).

I'm still undecided as to whether it is above or below the pixel layer (if there is such a thing).....

But clearly because it does move with respect to the pixels it is not a pixel problem in itself.... maybe a backlighting issue? I do have Dells new LED backlighting.

The LED backlighting would not cause this I don't think - but some pictures are really needed to diagnose the problem any further.
