delay for delivery questionj

Hi,

I've placed an order for a I6400 last friday (9th march). Online it's says that I'll be suppose to receive the thing by 23 march.

3 weeeeks?

is it normal??

yea, I'm waiting for my laptop too. Been over an week and knowing purolator, who the hell knows when I will get it.

Also, since I got it through work, I don't have the tracking number and I was told it would be 1-1/2 weeks.

Holding out to play games until I get it.

 

International processes might take a little longer.

I ordered mine on the 8th, it was shipped on the 11th, and arrived here today! (13th)

But, at first my shipping date was estimated at the 15th. and they ended up getting it here with time to spare before that! haha

I ordered my notebook the same day you did. My estimate is the 21st. Go figure, haha.

 

There seems to be something very strange with shipping dates right now - especially Canada. I placed my order on 4th and got an expected delivery date of the 22nd. Dell actually shipped on the 8th, received at Purolator US on the morning of the 9th and put on the truck for delivery yesterday morning - 9 days after I ordered and 9 days early based on the 22nd date.

 

Yea im in that same boat today actually i placed my order for my 6400 on the 8th(well long story as i put through the order 3 times to change things, once upgrading to the 30 dollar extra nvidia 7300 then i read here its crap compared to the x1400 so i re put it through again) but mine says the 26th to this day but it shiped on the 12th and the tracking is showing up. I live in Saint John N.B Canada so i hope i get it by this weekend.

 

I ordered mine March 11, expected shipping date March 26-29, with an expected delivery date of April 2 thru April 5th..This is in the USA

 

There is a backorder on the x1400 vid cards so thats probably why the 6400 are being delayed but i told the indian lady over the phone to rush my order and it looks like it actually happened cause i probably will be getting mine any day now if it shipped on monday, fingers crossed for at least friday i wanna have the weekend to play with my new toy lol

 

I ordered mine ( Inspiron 640m) on Monday (12th March) morning and Expected Shipping Date is March 19th and Expected Delivery Date is March 21st.. Fingers Crossed .. If it gets delayed I would no longer be available at that address .. I am leaving from my place on 24th for quite a long period..

 

I definitely didn't have a build delay. I have the x1400 but didn't have any prebuild delay - ordered Sunday, in build Tuesday, shipped Thursday - although it doesn't look like Dell changes the expected shipping date so they may have been anticipating a parts delay.

I also wonder whether they were expecting weather delays - bad weather in the NE US and eastern Canada on March 1st / 2nd and again on March 4th / 5th may have caused them to be careful with the dates? There have been lots of knock on flight delays due to weather in the last couple of months so maybe they were trying to allow for that.

I guess if you are Dell it's better to under promise than over promise and have a flood of 'where's my laptop it was supposed to be here by now' calls.

 

sound about right in just hopin for it by this weekend i cant wait any longer just lurking around on these forums is killing me lol
