    dell 1525 no wireless wlan driver? please help

    hi all iam new hear,i have a 1525 inspiron 32bit running a intel celeron and with windows vista basic in it,the trouble i got is the thing crashed the other day and would not reinstall via the f8 button back to factory standard,so i had to reinstall a fresh copy of windows from my dvd that came with it.all the rest of the computer works well now if any thing its faster,trouble is i can connect to the net via inthernet but not wireless? when ever i try this it says there is not drivers for the wlan card or wireless network,how can i get the drivers? i have tryed the drivers cd but none of them work,looked on the dell site but thats useless as it does the same as the web site...........any help would be greatfull

    Which wireless card do you have in your 1525? I'm assuming it is enabled it your BIOS if it is letting you try to use it. You do see your wireless wlan card in the device manager? Also, it is turned on via your switch on your laptop?

    Click here and open the Network tab in the table. Find your wireless device and download the driver to a folder on your computer or thumbdrive.

    Go to start -> Computer -> right click and choose properties -> click device manager on the lefthand side of the screen -> Network Adapters

    This will bring up your network devices in your laptop. You should see a WLAN Mini-Card in there or it could possibly say Unknown Device if you don't have a driver for it.

    Right Click on the one that says Unknown Device if that applies or the WLAN Card and go to properties. Click on the drivers tab.

    From there you should be able to click on the Update Driver option and browse the folder you saved the driver in that you downloaded from Dell. Or you could click use the internet to find my driver and see if that finds anything for you if you have trouble with the before mentioned. If you don't know which wireless card you have because it displays an Unknown Device in your Device Manager, you could just download all the wireless drivers (3 of them) to a folder and when you choose to load the driver from that folder it will find the correct one and install it. Let me know if you get anywhere with this.
