dell 1720 for 1300

so after considering the asus c90 vs the dell 1520 - i ended up choosing the dell 1720 because i found out that the dell coupon makes the 1720 cheaper than the 1520!!

my specs includes

2.0 ghz
1 gb ram ( gonna upgrade from newegg)
256 8600 gt
120 5400 HD
truelife 1900x1400? (forgot the resolution but the highest one)
bluetooth
wifi
2.mp camera
and the mocha color (wife wanted it)

all for 1309 after the rebate!

so with overnite shipping -- had to do this because was going out of town by the end of the month and wanted to make sure ut gets ehre on time..what you guys think?

 

What rebate got you this? Was it the home site or EPP?

 

I will say what everyone else will: Your laptop is going to weigh roughly 8 lbs excluding adaptor. With an adaptor/accessories it will be upwards of 10 lbs and too large for airplane use and things like that. If this is just a "portable" desktop replacement that's fine, but you will not be taking it to class/work every day (unless you have a strong back)!

That said, it's a good deal. What coupon did you use?

 

I've been pricing the Inspiron 1720's now since they came out - that's a phenomenal deal! I'm very interested in your configuration-

i just used the 350 dollars off coupon at the top of the site

i dont plan to take it many places at all. i may take it on the plane. but thats about it. the website says it's 7/6 lbs. and i know the brick is ognan be heavy but hey.. i don't plan on walking around and using it =P
