i know dell says the 6 cell battery charges to 80% in 1 hour, but how long does it take to charge the battery 100% from completely discharged while computer is on and while it is off, thank you...

well by doing simple math it should complete charging while it is off in about 75 min. It does not take much longer while it is on.

from what i understand, it doesnt go by "simple math", it charges 80% in one hour but the other 20% takes an hour or more, how much?

Why not deplete your battery and them time how long it takes to fully recharge?

Ya, the 80% charge in <1 hour is a sales pitch. I do believe it take more than an additional 15 mins to charge the remainder. My estimate would be an hour and 35 mins to an hour and 55 mins, for the whole.

And the age/use of your battery will also slighty alter the time it takes to drain > thus, I'm assuming, the time it takes to charge also.
