hi i was wondering if this means that in the future a video graphics card can be added in addition to the GMA 900??

I'm currently looking at the dell 6000 with the 715 1.5ghz model.
i can get it with with wsxga with a 60gb hd and 512mb ddr ram and a leather case for about $1650 Canadian after tax (with the -$100 coupon). The downside is that it has a 1mb cache and it doesn't have the sonoma technology or a video card.

    Any comments are welcome, thanks!

does the dell inspiron 6000 lie flat on the desk without wobbling when the battery is removed?
i see that one of the "legs" is planted on the battery
this laptop will spend a lot of time at home, so ideally i will remove the battery to preserve.

If you're going to be spending a lot of time at home, why not just get a desktop replacement like the HP ZD8000. Or if you want a 15.4 inch Dell Sonoma with a real GPU, look at the Latitude series (D810). That has a MRx600 in it.

    Thanks Ballin4life,
although i'm looking for a desktop replacement, i must stay around my budget of $1600 Canadian after tax and i don't think i can afford either the hp zd8000 or the dell 810.

The drawback of getting the dell 6000 now is that the one i'm looking at does not have the new sonoma technology as it uses the old processor chip (715).

Maybe i'll just wait another week or so to see what dell throws out. The site seems to have lots of errors and i can't tell if the p-m has a 1 or 2mb cache and if the canadian i6000 models have ddr2.
