Yes the 700m can support a 100GB drive. The connector is PATA. The ones you linked to have the correct connector. You want the 7k100, not the E7k100 which is made for blade servers not laptops.

I have a similar questions. I have a 700m and will be replacing the hard drive. Will this one work? Its 120GB or do I need to get the 80GB one?

I also was concerned over the ATA-6. Is this the right connection? I tried googling it and found different answers. Some site said I would need an IDE connector? Thanks for the help guys.

ATA/IDE/PATA are all the same thing. The Seagate you linked will work. You may need an interposer, but you can get it off your old drive.
