im asking this question here only because im kinda in a hurry to make sure i get my order in to dell before just incase they decide to cancel the 25% off coupon. When i configure my dell 9100 the only options it has for a sound card are 2 creative labs external sound cards. Does this mean that if i dont pick one of these external sound cards that i will not be able to listen to music, or are these just accessories to expand on the music experience. Any quick response would be much appreciated.

I'm almost 100% sure the notebook will come with a sound card internally (it would be ridiculous if it didn't)... the external sound cards are if you want surround-sound or the like. You can generally plug nicer speakers than come in the laptop into the basic sound card anyways... I have surround sound speakers plugged into mine, and though it isn't surround sound its still awesome.
