    dell 9300 hot or not deal ?

    I just got this deal this morning, but not sure if its a good deal.
    dell 9300
    pentium m 1.7
    80 gig HD
    x300 video card
    17 inch monitor

    900 shipped, I was hoping to game on this at night and work on it during the day. should i keep it or upgrade to the dualcore etc

    Hi Shortcircuit,
    That really just depends on how much of a gamer and multi-tasker you are. Compared to the starting price of dual core, I would return it and go with the 9400. For your specs on the 9300, that price should have been lower than what you paid for (IMO).

    where and how can i get a 9400 cheaper. this 9300 was 749.00 then i pay tax and shipping. if you can seem to find someway I would be greatful =)

    I was also thinking about buying this. Are there any notebooks that have anything better than a 128mb X300 for $750 or less?

    Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like you could find the 9400 cheaper. You can get a 9400 2.0ghz (dual core) system for around 1350 right now if you use the coupons.

    How much of a gamer are you? My concern is the P-M 1.7 and x300 card aren't the best specs for gaming.

    You might try look at Dell's Outlet store. Right now, I doubt there is going to be a wide selection of 9300's with a better card because the 9400 is offering a mid range card at the moment, so several users are looking at the 9300 with 6800 card for the alternative. From what I've seen, dell has stopped making the 9300, so you'll have to get a preconfigured one.
