supposedly, all the HDs are 5400. screen res is a personal choice. you should try to hit a store and compare the resolutions for yourself.

I believe all the hard drives are 5400RPM, but it doesn't say on the Dell site, so I can't be 100% sure...
As for the question of wether or not you should get the higher resolution, I also say go out to a local computer store and look at a high-res screen before you buy. You don't want the resolution to be so fine that you have trouble reading text and viewing web pages.
Are there any applications that you would be using that would benefit from a higher resolution display? -
I want to game !!!! bf2, css, dod source

I choose not to get the TruBrite option, I am happy with it. As for the HD speed, its probably 5400 but like the others said, check on it. I have the 80 gig 5400 HD. It works fine but I sometimes wish I got one of the 7200 RPM HD's

if you click on descriptions (it may only be for some models) at the type of pre-configured model you want and click on HDD's it should tell you. The 6000D comes with 5400 HDD's standard so I'm sure the 9300 does as well.

***eh, nevermind... it does if you click on "Tell me more" in the model config area @ http://www1.us.dell.com/content/lea...ine=notebooks&~lt=popup&~series=inspn&ref=CFG

I have the regular screen, but wish i had the truelife. Like drumfu said, it is all about personal choice. Some people love the regular, and some can't live without the truelife. If you have a dell outlet near, I would suggest to go there and look at the two screens. If you don't, then you might try going to Best Buy or local retail store, and compare the glossy vs. non glossy screens.
Most users that like the glossy screens on other brands like the truelife.

actually...for all dell laptops now...all their hard drives that don't say 7200 RPM hard drive is a 5400 RPM hard drive -
thanks for the help

the wxga screen is a great screen, i have it and prefer it over the wuxga which is glossy and way to high a resolution to be of any use. -
for gaming, the wxga is the way to go, the higher res screen reallyworks the video card alot harder which means you will not be able to play games on a wuxga screen with all of the video cards eye candy available and at max. -
dell now uses 5400rpm drives as standard drive speed for the hard drives, 4200 drives no longer ship out, least not in the USA.
dell 9300 owners , need driver and monitor help
