    Hi,

    I am planning to buy dell 9400 + 2gb 667 ddr2 + 80gb 7200 rpm + Go7900 GS + Vista Home premium.

    Now my queries as followed
    1) How does games run on windows vista on dell 9400 ?
    2) I plan to install windows xp on another partition and dual boot vista + xp. Has anyone done this? any experience and results?.
    3) I check dell website and all 9400 drivers are available for windows xp + vista.

    Thank you for your time.

Gaming will be better on XP for now, in time as vista and drivers mature, gaming will be equal to or greater than XP, I personally havent run a dual boot with vista and xp, but I dont see why it wouldnt work.

As Iceman has said gaming will be better on XP. Most other OSs can be installed along side Vista like with XP. I’m running XP Pro and Vista ultimate 32bit in dual boot mode along with MediaDirect3.

i just recently threw XP on my vista ultimate 9400 and the main difference between gaming is just that the new vista video drivers are a little buggy sometimes.

Other than the the game itself will play very well. I play CS S alot and fear on high graphics settings and numerous other games with very good results.

Most games will work well under Vista on a Go7900GS, because it is a powerful card. But you'll get even more out of it under XP. In comparison, XP is the faster platform for games (at least for now); but that is not same as saying Vista won't run them or perform very poor.
