Playing games will require a better processor but normal routine work will basically have the same results. If the price between these 2 r not that great, I advise u 2 get the 1.8 GHz processor.

I assume you pick out the 7400 go with your m1210 and theorically you should pick the 1.6GHz cause it will reduce battery usage and power. I pick the cheapest one because later on I would need to upgrade to Merom (in 2 year probably). Also dual core is much faster then you think and I'm going to use Juz_Fololw_ATI as an example :D! His 2.0GHz scored an average of 1m 36s while the average 1.6GHz dual core scored an average of 1m 27s.
If you want a M1210 review you should check out this one it's really similar to my configuration. http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3028
but! theorically it make sense that the faster the processor the better the game play but i really don't think your going to experience any difference maybe 1-2 frames max?!? + most of the processing is done on your v-card.

The difference between a 1.83 and 1.66 Core duo is very little. I'd spend more money on more RAM and perhaps a faster 7200RPM HD.

You're probably best off staying with the 1.66GHz Core Duo. The 1.83GHz will not offer much more peformance as stated; you'll only see a difference in benchmarks and encoding/rendering, and maybe one or two more FPS in games.

More RAM would be a good idea. I'd upgrade aftermarket if possible.
