Hey all, im running a viewsonic LCD monitor on my Dell XPS 1710. Its all stock and Ive done no changes to drivers, etc. Problem I have is running the external monitor. Sure I can get it going ok, but if I close the lid on the lappie then the thing goes into standbye. So, I'm sorta forced to change it to 'do nothing' so when i run the external monitor, close the lid, the lappies screen goes bright white. im worried this will burn/dull the screen over time. can anyone head me in the right direction so that i can run it off the external monitor, close the laptop and have its monintor shutoff. im hoping this is a durr /slapsself easy solution. thanks =) oh, im running vista btw
