I have an older Latitude C600 750mHz.
I recently purchased a 1gHz processor for a C600. When I installed and booted, an error came up in the BIOS that said "Motherboard does not support installed processor". Is there anything else I should've done? or will it not work?
Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking it might be a incompatibility all right. The PIII 750MHz processors all had 100MHz system bus, and several 1GHz processors had a 133MHz bus:

Where did you get the processor?
You might try to update the BIOS for the machine (here: http://support.us.dell.com/support/...aseid=R52071&formatcnt=4&libid=0&fileid=61676) and see if that helps, but AFAIK that is the only option that might fix this issue. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
My friend has a C600 with A23, so there should be an even later A23 bios floating around...
And yes, it'll only take the 100MHz bus.
