Is there a history of the kind of coupons Dell offered in the past? I only "discovered" them recently. Right now, they offer $600 off $1500+ Inspirons and $750 off $1900+ ones.

However, it should be noted that these coupons apply not to the price tag you see when configuring the system, but to the crossed out "list price". This makes a huge difference.

I'd like to know what their past history is, so I can guess what kind of discounts will be available come Friday.

I'm actually leaning towards IBM, but with a good enough deal, Dell might still win me over.

On our forums, you can do a search on Notebook And Tech Deals and it will give you a list of all the coupons that we have posted for the last several months.

Thanks. It looks like the current deal is as good as it gets. I didn't find anything better than $750 off $1900+ "list" (crossed out) price.

well, i bought my 6000 months ago, and they had a 750$ off coupon for laptops configured greater than 1500$

    that was a sweet deal

Ive heard the 30% off is better than 750 bucks off for anything priced over 1999$

Since they have started lowering thier prices on the Inspirons, their coupons haven't been as good as what they were. They have had a couple of good ones, but the coupons were used up by that afternoon. I remember one was 35% off,but I don't remember the price.
