How is everybodys experience with the dell e105 so far. I am thinking of either getting that model or the hp dv 6000t. Which one Should I get? i plan on getting a 2ghz intel core 2 duo. 100 gb HD. 1-2 gb ram. Decent videocard. Price range 800-1200

I'm pretty sure that the HP pavilion dv6000t has the better build and sometimes dell has it's problems. HP is nice

The cost of HP might be higher but if you can , go for HP, their design looks pretty good. Becareful about BSOD Memory Parity error on E1705 and1505 because of ATI video cards or something else. I have to return my Dell because of that Deadly error.

Between the two , dell is your best bet. Dell offers better graphics card, better cpu for your price range. You might have to use dell coupons though.

With regard to build quality HP might be bit better. If you can afford it then buy the HP, but I feel that you can get a better performer for a lesser price if you go with E1505. E1505’s X1400 video card is also faster than HP’s Geforce Go 7400; and you might be able to get a DELL with 2GB of RAM for the same price as an HP with 1GB.

If those were the only 2 options I’d go with DELL, cos for me performance is number 1. besides, the build quality of DELLs are not bad.

My E1505 has been great. I run the latest Catalyst drivers with Powerstrip for a little graphics boost. As to the build quality, the only issue I have is the LCD latch, it just feels cheap...lol

I have had my E1505 for about 6 months now. Couldn't be happier with my decision. I was stuck between an HP and a Dell but I've had bad experience with Hp so I said screw it. Now have 4 dell computers around the house and they are working great! Go with the dell!

No problems or regrets on my e1505. Well, other than they offer something better than the X1400. But the X1400 is still slightly better than the best GPU HP offers in the 15.4" notebooks (go 7400).
