It shouldnt be long before the ATI hd5xxx series is available to all of the Dell laptops in the US.

I dunno where you live but here in India they have come up with the 5470 in the studio 15 range. the 5470 IMO isn't much better than the older one, it has the same 80 stream processors ( 400 in the 5650 !), I was expecting the 4650 in it . In UK they have the 5650 in the Studio 17 though !

The 5470 is better for power I think.. uses slightly less.. should help with throttling issues a bit :S

Yes, it does use a little less power and has less heat dissipation. Too bad us Americans STILL DO NOT have it as an option.

I'm more worried about the pricing! In Holland the 5470 is available as option for 105 euro's!! 105 euro's is far too much for the difference between the 4570 and 5470.

Also, here the Inspiron 15 already has an 5450 standard. Im wondering how long Dell will continu to sell the budget inspiron with a newer card than the Studio 15. It is taking a long time now..

    Well, that's Dell pricing ;)
When I bought my Vostro 1500 two years ago, the price difference from Geforce 8400GS to 8600GT was minus (yes, minus!) 70 Euro :D
