Does anyone know how to figure out what model is my heatsink, or where to buy them? i looked in ebay but can't find it.

i noticed that my laptop kept running hotter and hotter until i decided to look if the fanswhere even working and saw that the heat sink fan is not moving.

That doesn't mean your heatsink is broken. You've probably got years of dust clogging up the fan. Use a toothpick to hold the blades and prevent them from moving, and blast it away with compressed air.

Hmm. How's the thermal paste? It's the stuff between the CPU and heatsink surface. If it's all crusty, you ought to reapply some.

You dont need a new heatsink you just need a new fan, and while you are replacing your fan apply Artic silver 5 to cool down those unwanted temps. I believe dell uses forcecon fans, thats what I have in my dell studio 15.

thanks for the tips guys, i have not called dell, since i bought it in the United states website, and sent the computer to Puerto Rico, and united states does not ship to puerto rico because they have a latin america section, but they're prices and support sucked.

I have not looked at the thermal paste, although i thought about it also, i am waiting for the artic silver 5 i bought.

Where can i find the forcecon fans, i looked and ebay but they don't look like the fan i have.

I have check the cpu temperatures, they run in 50-54 C
