    dell inspiron 1520 burning up, no fans!

    Have a dell inspiron 1520 and the fans almost never kick on. Updated BIOS a9.

    Are there any programs that allow user to take over control of the fan at whatever predetermined temp.?

    i8kfangui should still work for the 1520. If that doesn't do the trick, it might just be that your fans are clogged/dead.

    Ya I would clean out all the dust and crud in the fan. Worst case, get down under the palmrest and repaste the CPU. Also moving to Inspiron/Studio subforum
