i have bought dell inspiron 1520 with configurations

intel core 2 duo 2.0 ghz
    graphic card intel (R) 965 (256 mb )
    hdd 150 gb
    1 gb of ram

    vista home premium

the problem is that the system works fine when running on adaptor , but when i run it on battery then it hang after few minutes.

When it goes hang all of the lights goes on and i cant do anything but to
press the power button off for a while to shut it down.

The problem continues until i switch the power on.

One more thing is that when i disable the graphic card driver the problem vanishes.

But iam not sure that is it really the graphic card problem , All driver are up to date.

if its graphic card problem then what is the real problem in it a faulty card or
its not getting total voltage when on battery.

i will really appreciate if some one provide me a solution as i need this thing to be working when iam out .

    regards.

Sounds like your power schemes are wrong. Whose driver are you running, Dell's or MS's?

i check it and its dell power schemes also i found out on net that dell quickset is managing the power schemes so i uninstall it to see wheather it solve the problem but its not.

what i see is that the laptop freezes when after using for a while on battery or whenever extensive graphic operation goin like 'Chess game' but still on the battery.

i dont think its a software issue because i cant press alt delete to restart the machine everything just freeze up.

also why this problem not occur when i disable the graphic card , i also tried to disable hardware acceleration but my graphic driver is not allowing me to do so .

who ever solve this problem i will really appreciate because i cant travel with it and its my first dell machine.

kindly reply if you got any solution i will try it.

Mine does exactly the same. Never fixed despite loads of calls and patches. Funny how Dell rushed out the 1525 eh? :(
