    hello friends.. i have purchased the new dell inspiron 4110 2 months ago. and i checked the capacity of the battery using the gadget called battery meter it had showed the capacity of charge 46.764 watt but now it is showing its capacity is justt 45.58 watt or 4222 mah,,and capacity of charging decreased to 94% . is this rate of decresing well or it is its life is decreasing rapidly? please make me clear

    what should be the backup given by a dell battery at new stage..?when watched a movie only in half brightness? what should be the capacity of the new dell battery.. ? please help

    This is more or less normal for the crappy Sanyo batteries Dell likes to use. If the battery drops below [something like 50%?] in the first year, Dell will cover it under warranty.

    I am assuming that you are running Windows 7, in the past win7 had problems monitoring battery use and caused high deterioration of the batteries. Happened to the first battery on my compaq f700 after I upgraded to win7.

    However, If you are up-to-date with the service pack and patches should not be an issue now. Also unlike older batteries the trick now is never to let it run down completely, my 7 month old N4110 gives me about 3:45 hrs on a full charge, with two cooler fans and a WWan modem running off in power saver setting. Haven't checked without them, but guess life to be more.
