There's an ATI graphics card in there..
    "1 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300Video Card, for Inspiron 6000 $0.00 "

Only thing I can see that would need to be changed is the processor. I would at least go up to the Pentium M 740.. and it's only $50 more.

I actually just ordered a Inspiron 6000 today .. got a good deal on it too with a $750 off coupon.

The price is very reasonable, but if you aren't happy with it, it is better to return as soon as possible. You only have 21 days from the day of shipment to return it for a full refund.

According to dell's information, that video card should be able to support games on it.

If you want to return it and get another one 6000, I would suggest to increase your CPU either to 1.73 or 2.0, and get the lowest amount of memory possible. Dell over charges on RAM, so go to newegg.com or another vendor, and buy 1gb stick from there (right now at newegg it is 85 for 1 stick of 1gb. )

Try researching x300, you'll learn that its far better than the integrated intel graphics out there, and that it can correctly display DirectX stuff where as the Intel can't

Now If I was purchasing that laptop and stuff, I would have bought the exact thing you did, so you did good!

Strange the game isn't running. But ya, only thing I can think of would be to put a faster processor on that. For games, the upgrade to 2.0GHz. It will probably cost you an additional $100 - $150. Otherwise, i'm not sure why the game isn't running. Have you reformated and cleaned off all the preloaded Dell software that came with the machine? That would be slowing down the machine if it hasn't been done yet.

If you really wanted to game, you kinda got the wrong laptop there friend... But with 1 gig of RAM, your integrated card should have plenty to steal from... No reason why Fable wouldn't run on it... unless you got the XBox version by mistake.

Hmm, I guess the 6000 isn't really meant for hardcore gaming but it should nevertheless play games atleast on lower quality (with the higher-end graphics card available for that machine).

Well...not really for hardcore gaming, but those who don't mind playing on lower settings it wouldn't be bad. If you are looking for something for a hardcore gamer look at the I9300 or XPS.

someone on this forum said the XPS wasnt made for hardcore gaming. I knew I was right when USAFdude02 said that above. I mean why else would they charge more on XPS than?

xps is an umbrella term. under that term are machines that are "specialized" for "gaming" or "multimedia".

xps does not automatically mean "gaming machine"

Well thank you all for replying...so can I get a gaming machine(i dont need a hardcore one..)for the same price i got this one? if so, which options are availabel?

Oh and USAFdude the 19300 u described(i followed the link) has the same specifications that my laptop...so it should be almost the same i guess.

And finally the version of fable i have is the pc one...the game starts but after i clikc "start game" it looks like it;s loading but then it exits and gives me a windows error.

Sounds like its a game problem, not the machine. Probably wouldnt hurt to send in a report to the company that makes fable, so they can fix it in a patch release.

I agree...you get alot of stuff from the patches for the game...if it is the same specs as the I9300 you should have no problems.
