    hi!

I've had a Dell Inspiron n5110 (15R) with a Intel i3 CPU for about 2 weeks now and I noticed that the palm rest is getting warm too quickly... it's not hot that you can't put your hands on it, but it's warmer than I would expect it to be..

So I downloaded the SpeedFan software to check the temperatures and see if there are any overheating issues... this is what the SpeedFan reads:

    GPU 48 C (it's nVidia GeForce 525)
    HD0 43 C
    Temp1 55 C
    Core0 57 C
    Core1 50 C

next to the temperatures Temp1, Core0 and Core1 is a little flame sign, not a green check mark like it's supposed to be... does it mean that the CPU gets too hot?
    are these temperatures normal?
I'm not running any demanding programs nor playing games, I'm only browsing.. and it's on my desk so it has a normal airflow to the fan..

sorry if I'm being a bit paranoid  , my last two laptops died due to overheating issues and I would just like to check if everything is ok or should I consider buying a cooling pad..

    Thank you for your reply!

SpeedFan puts the fire icon there when temps go above 50C. Your temps are fine. You can change that 50C setting if you want (don't remember how).

thanks.. I increased the "warning temperature" to 60C not to get that fire icon.. I just wanted to check if that's ok..
    thanks again!

i have same model as you n5110 but i7 processor and gt525 and my left palm gets hot aswell, in gaming it gets eaven HOTTER.

Thing is that there is a chipset processor under palmrest and they didnt cool it properly so we're stuck with warm left palm,
does ur palm gets hot up to like 40-45 C in gaming?
like very unpleasent to hold hand on?
