    hi guys
i just bought dell inspiron 1545 with 250 GB hdd.
when i received my laptop i checked that it has two partition one with 217 GB(OS installed) and another with 15 GB(Recovery partition).
I want to do further partition of 217 GB disk. usually, on my desktop i use hirens boot cd for creating partition. same i try to do here bt evrythng got messed up.
my 217 GB partition got deleted or corrupted and went under anallocated space.
Now i try to recover partition it is not recovering. i try to allocate at the time of vista installation it shows the errorof 0x08, repairing is not working, in short nothng is working.
can ny1 suggest hw to solve the problem????

    thanx in advance

Maybe try using your vista disc to boot and reformat the HDD.

Yeah, there is absolutely no need to use a third party formatting disk to reinstall Windows; the Vista install disk can do all the reformatting you need.

You cannot install Windows to unallocated space; you have to create a new partition in that space.
