im really interested in purchasing the e1505 but dell's reliabilty is troubling me a bit, my uncle had a inspiron 5000 and the mother board gave out after 4 yrs of use and i know of others u said the motherboard was gone near 3-4 yrs, suprisingly they happen after the warranty. any body have bad experiences with dead dells after a few years, theyre desktops are really strong as i have 2 with one being almost 10 yrs old with no problems at all (knock on wood), thanks

Dell has gotten much better in terms of build quality-especially in terms of their inspiron line. I have owned an e1505 and I found the build to be good. Tools only last as long as you treat them well. Most problems in desktops are amplified in notebooks, the smaller form factor means that heat builds up much faster, dust and other debris can cause issues. The best advice I can give is to take care of your computer, clean the vents occasionally. With the 3-4 year warranty, you should have very little need to worry. After that period of time it is usually time to upgrade to a new machine anyway.
