I have a latitude d410 (but maybe the instructions are the same for all latitudes)... and before the LCD hingers were tight... meaing when i opned it, it stayed open and there was virtually no wobble (unlike a lot of other laptop lcds out of the box).

anyway, now when the lcd is upright, it has like a 1/2cm travel/wobble to it... kinda hard to explain... but i can tilt the lcd forward and backward w/o actually moving the hinge (if that makes sense).

This has gotten progressively worse. How can I fix this, w/o sending it to Dell? There doesn't seem to be any screws by the hinges.

    thanks

You probably need to tighten a screw inside the display assembly. I looked at the manual and I can't tell if the latitudes use the same setup as the Inspirons, but on the Inspirons, we have screws that attach the hinge to the screen. You might try taking off the bezel (the top part of the screen that has the dell logo on it), but it is a bit tricky and you need to be careful so you don't scratch the screen.
