    hey i ordered a dell laptop on the 29th on friday or thursday forget i think friday and wondering if i can call them to add a glossy screen think its to late? can some one give me some help or maybe can i call and cancel my order? i want that screen :(

    what model did you order? because i know that because there have been a high amount of orders that they aren't going to ship out E1505 until August 1

    You can try and call dell to change your order, but normally once your order is placed it is difficult to change any hardware parts.

    If worse comes to worse, you can call Dell and cancel with no problems at all. They don't charge your Credit Card until your laptop has been shipped. If you want the glossy screen, then you need to call Dell ASAP and get this matter taken care of.

    You should be able to call on Monday with no problem at all. I was just suggesting to call asap because you'll probably have to order a new laptop, so your shipment date might be pushed back depending on how many sales Dell has this week.

    The best thing to do is just to call them. If they say you can't change your order, then cancel it. Either way, you will be able to get a glossy screen.

    if i cancel it what happens to the free printer they already shiped? would i have to send it back

    Generally, your printer doesn't arrive until the day your laptop arrives. Dell might have already given you a number, but when my printer came, they held it in California or somewhere until my laptop is shipped.

    This would be something that your dell representative would have to tell you. If you do have to send it back, just refuse shipment and don't sign for it. If you sign for it, then you have to pay for the shipping charges back.

    but you should talk to them and most likely be able to change it because the cs rep said that sales were big this week and that the only way to recieve your notebook soon is by ordering next day. *hint* order next day and complain to them online they may bump up shipping for free. Also that whenever I ordered a dell computer they never asked me to sign anything.

    With laptops, they are required to get an adult signature. I even live out in the country and have tried to get them to leave laptops here, and because of Dell/UPS agreement with each other, they are have to have a signature.

    Maybe you were just lucky.
