    hi,

Does anyone think or know whether the price of current laptops at dell will drop when the new intel chips are out at the end of the month? Will prices drop before, at the same time, or after the new chip releases? And if it drops after, will it be months before the price will drop, or relatively quickly?

    thanks

Yes , No and Maybe ...

Seriously , Dell prices usually crawl down , its hard to keep up with the coupons and chnaging schemes but when I configure the same spec every now and then I see a slow decline .

However don't expect a large drop because what they often do short after is to leave the price as is and raise the specs .

For example , you can't find a inspiron 17" with a Dothan any more , you have to buy a duo core Yona .

Bottom line : don't expect to save much , you can expect to get a stronger notebook for your $ .
