Should I back this up, or is there a way I can just get a Vista CD without calling them?

I was thinking about just buttoning it up as an image and putting it on another hard drive somewhere to clear up some space on my primary drive.

This is on an E1705, BTW

You can head to Dell Chat and request a disk, i've done it a few times, just tell them u screwed up your recovery partition and the pc wont boot and u need the disk to reinstall, they dont make any fuss, they usually just send it to u with 3-5 day shipping

For this kind of problem you dont need to have an onsite tech to do this job for you and beside the onsite tech warranty does not cover this kind of problems. Just tell them that you need the dvds or cds that should have come w/ the system so that you can reinstall your windows. Or if you cant wait why not back up your documents and then try to load pc restore but hitting F8 when you see the dell logo and go to the repair option that would load up an image copy of your system. Hope this helps....
