The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. if you want to speak with dell, its not on these forums! while some come here once and a while, they are not obligated to talk with you. If you wish to talk with support, call dell or email dell, or chat with dell on their site. Its not hard man...

Gonna have to echo Nizzy here: A forum is NOT where you post for instant help. Call Dell or use LiveChat if you want a quick response, but NBR isn't Dell support. We help in whatever ways we can, and some companies like to have a presence on the forum, but their presence is spread throughout the forum, not limited to one or two threads.

Especially for purchasing, you should be contacting Dell directly, as they can set you up to purchase the replacement part. The Dell rep in the forum can't do that within the forum.

And anyway, the Dell 5100 has a known problem with the heatsinks, but unlike similar models was not recalled (yet). There are still class-action lawsuits outstanding in California and Canada, though. My last notebook was a Dell 5100, which is why I did not buy a Dell this time around.

ohhh ok, well i guess i will be calling dell for replacement parts and repair. i wasn't sure where i would get the replacement parts as he just left me hanging as i only need 1 response left. It confused me because, he went through all of this effort to help me, but left me hanging on the very last strand in which i needed to be complete.
