so I ordered an m1210 on 10/13/06 and on the same day it says that my order was shipped and "in transit", that meaning from dell to the shipper. So today is 10/19/06 and I still havent gotten any email notification of a tracking number and the order status is still "in transit from dell to shipper." I bought from Dell Outlet and they offered me free 3-5 day shipping. I was under the assumption that it would be get to me within 3-5 of the ship out date. Am I under the wrong presumption? I just want my notebook![]()

I would give Dell a call...sometimes their online systems aren't updated in real time. Actually, a lot of time those systems aren't updated in real time...it still says I have an active service call on my (sold) M140 that was resolved 10 months ago.
Anyway, if you call their CS department you can probably get more accurate information. Usually they'll have tracking numbers a little faster than the website does. -
well i called their automated order status line and I got the same info that their online system gave me. Should I talk to a representative?
-
Yes, and say you might cancel your order and they will give you a gift card.
-
Ignore the transit time. It always stays in transit when you check on the outlet site. I always get mine in 3-5 days (when i pay for that shipping) regardless of what the page says- they don't even give you the tracking number until you open the package and see it on the shipping invoice!
Dell's outlet department just doesn't ever seem to update the pages properly. Pay attention to the estimated delivery date and give it a day or so past and it'll show up =)
Case in point (look familiar?) This was delivered on time, more than a week ago!

I wouldn't be surprised if my dimension 8400 is still 'in transit' from november 2005... -
That automated system only spits out the same stuff the website does...a person (most of the time) has more information.
-
that looks very familiar. i feeling so much better now. well at first they gave me an arrival date of 10/24/06. but when I got my shipping confirmation email they said 10/17-10/19 which seemed more reasonable (for the 3-5 day shipping offer). i hope it either comes today or tomorrow.. -
well since the 19th was not the original arrival date you cant get any gift cards. You will only have a case for gift cards if it doesnt come by the 24th.
-
if every post of yours is going to be about getting a gift card, we'd all rather not hear about it
if you have something meaningful to add to the thread, please do
if all you're going to post is "get a gift card", just
STOP

If u have lots of gift cards, please PM me, or open a thread of free giftcards for whoever comes first, if u dont' use them. I 've had a hard time dealing with Dell an not such thing offered to me. And my system is still a defective with BSOD , dell didn't resolve me this issue yet.
thanks
Peace. -
well just incase you still the Tracking number go to My Account on Dell website and then Customer Support (lower right), and then on top right click on Chat with Us, then Customer Support .. on the next page enter your order number or customer number and then in the issue section select Order Status (it will give you a popup message just hit cancel), and when you are connect to rep. tell'em to give you the UPS (if thats how it was shipped) Tracking number. Took me 5 minutes to get mine and it should work for you
Edit:-
If you are in U.S. just click on this link and follow up.
