i just got a dell i6000 with a standard integrated video/soundcard INTEGRATED INTEL VIDEO,I6000,UMA...i believe. also, DECODING SW,CYBERLINK POWERDVD,V5.1,INSP. so i am looking at getting a speaker system, but i've been told that my soundcard would support a 2.1 system at best. i'm considering getting a 5.1 system, but i think that might be overkill for my soundcard. or is it? the dvd player looks like its capable of 5.1 output, so... if i get a creative 5.1 gd580 (this is one option i was considering), it comes with a decoder. does this decoder take 2.1 sound from my soundcard and turn it into 5.1 sound? or does it just play 2.1 sound thru a 5.1 system? so, if i want to get a 5.1 system, and actually get 5.1 sound, do i need to get a new soundcard? or since its an integrated video/soundcard, and it doesn't look like it just pops easily out the side, do i need a sound and video card?? sorry...this is new to me.
