On the 12th i ordered the studio 15 with 3 gigs of ram custom color, apart from this it was standard, anyway the money did not come out of my account but the order went on to pre processing. On the 18th i called dell and they said they received payment, i asked them to make sure and they comfirmed payment received. i checked with the bank and sure enough no payment is taken. pre-processing has taken a week so far and i am wondering if my order is going to be cancelled or if im gonna get chased for payment later on, any ideas

i am pretty sure dell reserves the amount with your bank and then when the notebook has been shipped they take the money.

The money will be taken from your account before the S15 is shipped to you...They probably did a *pre-authorization* to make sure the funds were available.. ;) :)

And, it's not fun being in the *pre-processing* state ;) I'm sure you will move out of that stage fairly soon ;) :)

    Cin ;) :)

Don't expect a free laptop. Unless you have received the laptop and yet no deduction on your account, then that might be interesting.

when phoned dell said the money has already been taken from my account, in the uk dells standard practice is to clear all funds before moving on to pre-processing. they are adament the funds have been removed from my account. it is either an error with the bank or dell. i am just worried that they will realise and cancel the order, what do u think?

It means they are sending the laptop from Malaysia. The boxing stage should be complete today or tomorrow.

Mine's been marked "delivery prep" for three days now. Is that the same thing as "boxing"? Ie. that my poor Ruby Red Studio 17 is being shipped half way across the world? :p

Oh, they will charge you. The same happened to me before, and it took them about a week to withdraw funds. Trust me, they will charge you. :p
