For anyone who has used this how smooth did it go?

I called last week and gave me my return authorization number for my new 1520 and they sent UPS to pick it up the following morning but I will be a little worried till I see the money credited back to my card which they said could take 15-20 days after they received it.

The computer was shipped back in the original box and it is scratch free and in perfect working order other than than the wifi not working which couldn't be fixed even after they sent me a new network adapter which I also shipped back to them in the box, so is there no doubt that I will get my money back without any problems.

BTW I only owned it for a week and once they give you a return authorization number and they pay UPS to pick it up does that mean that my money will for sure be refunded without problems?

generally its about a 2 week (10 businjess day) ordeal.

youll get your money way sooner than 30 days they say it takes.

thats just to cover their "arse"

So has anyone else ever done this and did it go smoothly or did Dell give you problems?

I returned a D620 (when I found out the D630 was available in Canada) and had no problems at all.

I ended up ordering an m1330 however! :D

They verify that what you returned is what you purchased and then will issue the credit. Not a huge deal (unless of course you return a box of bricks or something).

I did it last year for the 6400 and then my first M1210 and both went great. I had reasons for both as the 6400 was a true Friday lemon and then the M1210 replaced because of squealing to which I bought another..same same.

In the end they replaced my later bought M1210 with a M1330.

Well guys I got the email yesterday saying my card would be refunded the amount within the next 5 business days but the amount was over $100.00 dollars less than I paid, I ended up on the phone with them for over a hour yesterday and they finally said half of the hundred bucks was for taxes and the other half was for a warranty wireless adapter the sent me to try to fix it. Well after I lost my temper a couple times from them not being able to follow their own directions and from their bad English and explained to them I stuck the network adapter in the box with the PC like the woman told me to they agreed to refund the money for it then I had to call the Dell tax dept to get the other half of the hundred dollars back from the taxes and she said I would get that back in the next 15-21 days also.

I have done received a email saying that the money for the network adapter will be credited in the next five days but as for the tax credit I still have nothing but the ladies word saying it would be refunded on the card.

Overall I would say that the easy total satisfaction return policy ended costing me a easy 2 hours of my time on the phone but I am pretty sure I will eventually get the whole amount refunded, I hope.

This is the third Dell I have ordered and the first one is the best desktop I have owned, the second laptop I ordered a couple years ago for my brother in law so he could get my discount and he had some problems and had to send it back once, then this new laptop I ordered for myself and it had multiple problems which I determined to be a faulty motherboard. So i have to say Dell can make some good products but I think their quality has really slipped over the last year or two and I think their knowledgeable customer service they once had has now been replaced by new non English incompetent people and why I wouldn't persuade anyone from not getting a Dell I think I will be trying a different manufacturer out for a while and my new HP laptop should be here within a week.
