    dell vostro 1500 microphone squeaking

    this microphone has random squeaks and chaotic noise each time i activate it. is there a fix for this?

    It sounds like some sort of feedback situation. Like the mic is picking itself up from the speakers. I tried to replicate it on my 1500 using the Windows Sound Recorder, but I don't get any squeaks even with the mic level all the way up, and mic boost turned on (but then, I don't hear myself coming through the speakers while recording). Did you try lowering the mic level?

    its life with it... most notebooks have that issue ... i just live with it it could be worse... points at my thread... my vostro is burning :D
