i recently reinstalled dell webcam manager after having driver problems with it.
but now when i start the webcam manager it says "this webcam has the parental control feature enabled. please tpe the passord th activate your web cam." the problem is that i have not set any password  so i am wondering if their is a default. :(
ps if you know of any alternative webcam manager that is compatable with a dell inergraded web cam i would be happy to try it

Perhaps you should uninstall and reinstall the webcam altogether. That is very odd.

Do you have parental control enabled in windows?? check that. Turn off parental control and try with another account as administrator. check back with the results.

Are your parents running parental controls on vista to watch over you? Maybe you should talk to them...
