    dell x1 lcd problem

    Please check the pic which I shoot from my screen, there are several permanent spots on my lcd has anyone experince it? what is it?

    Looks like a normal pressure mark, you probebly just had too much pressure on that part of the screen at one time, those usually happen to me when you put something like books or anything else on top of the lid really.

    As far as I know they aren't removable, don't affect the screen when it's on (usually) and are more common on matte screens.

    The screen is ON with white background. there several of them this one is the most visible. However x1 has a sturdy LCD lid I doubt it if the pressure from a book can cause such spots.

    Even an LCD encased in metal can get pressure marks from something as little as a few books. The compaq evo N610c that I own has a screen encased in metal, and has a few pressure marks like that, which were caused by pressing on the lid too hard. I don't think it's fixable, and if it's affecting the quality of your screen, then I don't think there's anything you can do about it, unless your warrantee covors that.
