i ordered a studio 17 on 8/11 over the phone. i first had my item in my cart on my computer, ran ito problems trying to order and called dell sales. well to make a long story short, they. dell was having a great sale, over $600 dollars off studio 17 that was expiring 8/11. i ordered over the phone and ordered the disply w/ led, was told i would reeive an e-mail confiormation of the order. well i never receive the e-mail so, i went to dell site and looked up my purchase id and lo and behold my display that was ordered was a glossy 17 not the glossy 17 w/led. i called customer service to resolved the problem and was told i could either cancel and reordered at $200 to $300 or than my orginal order and get a refund. that's it, no i'm sorry for the mistake and ordered my display i ordered at no additional cost or nothing. i spoke with the supervisor who told me she was not the person who placed the orginal order so i am sol.. this is just unacceptable and i told them i would file an compliant w/ bbb and consumer affairs. any other advise or comments?????

Always write down names and phone numbers. Especially when people promise you something.

I'd try to contact the original sales person.

Even if you write down the reps name and number when they promise you something, the CSR resolution department will not honor it. I had the name and everything, even a record of the call in which I recorded it, and they STILL refused to honor what the sales lady said. Now that's customer service!

Yeah, I'm not going to lie, it is among the worst customer services I've dealt with. All will be well once my laptop arrives.

well, after playing phone tay, i finally spoke to someone in consumer resolutions. i told her about my issue and that i wanted the screen display in which i ordered/paid for. i adamatly stated i will not pay a dime extra to get the display for which i wanted.

well, she said she needed to first cancel the order then reorder what i wanted. she said she would call me back once that's done. guess what, she did not call me back and when i called her back, their office hours were closed.

i hope she is not jerking me around. i will try her again tomorrow. will keep you posted.

i forgot to add that my order was in the boxing phase, i ordered 8/10. i wonder with the new order, will i have to wait yet another month to get my laptop or will they expedite the order. they had better not try to give me a refurbished laptop.
