Does dell's limited warranty and accidental care coverage warranty become void if you replace the memory and hard drive (within that warranty's frame) in your notebook? Or does it still just cover what originally came with your notebook?

I believe that it covers what originally came with your notebook. For example if your new HD or your RAM died they wouldn't replace them. The rest of the notebook would still be covered however.

yup, that is what i've been told. however, if a replaced component (say replaced RAM) was the reason your motherboard burned out and melted (i don't know if this would happen) you would be out of luck.

bottom line, if the source of the problem is a Dell component, they will fix all Dell parts that still exist in the notebook. if it is third party they will not, even when a Dell part was the source of the problem.

it is extremely unlikely that RAM/HD will cause mobo or something else to fry. So, basically if you upgrade HD, RAM or even optical drive then manufacturer's warranty applies to those components and Dell's warranty applies to dell components.
