Dell's quality is decent...I would consider it about average on the Inspiron series of notebooks.

My friends and I have not had problems getting the correct components from Dell...at least in the computer.

I have had problems ordering discs and stuff of that sort, but that is to be expected because of the 100's of discs they have and so similar part numbers. The knowledge should be greater, but all in all Dell is a decent company. :)

    Just my $.02

I would say average - I've gone through a few of my work laptops - keys start to pop off, on the one I'm using now, the plastic around the hinging keeps cracking and breaking off. I've already had Dell replace the lid/cover once) as one of the hinges broke completely.

I had an Inspiron a few years back that was DOA.

Just keep in mind that they're a major volume player - the good thing is the price...the bad thing is they can't put TLC into all of their units.

    I don't think they're bad, they're just not great.
