    Hi all,

I cannot choose which one - E1505 or Latitude D820 to buy. For my choosen configuration E1505 is ~1370.00 , D820 - ~1520.00 . What is most preferable?

Both have 15.4" wide screens. Both have the intel dual core processors. Basic speed and functionality is the same, outstanding! The real difference is in the construction and the graphics card.

The Latitude D820 is a sturdier built machine. It is for the business world. Higher quality in the construction process of it. The graphics card in it is the 256MB NVIDIA® Quadro NVS 110M TurboCache, equivilent to the ati x1400 in performance for games but very good for rendered graphics, like in autocad and such programs. The screen isnt glossy.

The E1505 is the Economy (hence the E) model. Its sold to the general public. It is constructed more cheaply. You can get the 256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory video card in it. That is a 128mb dedicated graphics card that can use up to 128 of the machines memery too(128mb dedicated + 128 shared = 256 hypermemory). You can get the glossy screen with the E1505.

I hope this helps a bit. I am leaning towards the M820 myself. I have a XPS Gen 2 17" at work now. It is the economy line too. It looks kewl but was scuffed up within a couple of weeks of use. Plus its a monster to lug around.

Another model to look at would be the HP d5000t. It is real close to the E1505.
