    Hi All

    I recently bought a dell xps m1530.

I'm now looking to buy some sort of docking station. I know that the m1530 can't have a proper docking station - so I was wondering what my options are?

Ideally I want something I can connect a monitor and all usb devices to. I am thinking something that provides power is out though?

I'm considering a Targus ExpressCard Docking station but I'm wondering if does more than I really need?

I distantly remember seeing one that was almost a laptop holder - so it held up that laptop screen at eye level. I can't find it anywhere now - any ideas?

    Other suggestions welcome!

    Thanks

The best option you can really get is a usb hub and then to manually plug in your external monitor. 3rd party docking stations are terrible.

Agreed. There isn't a 3rd party docking station that will do video smoothly even for routine tasks.

OK so that rules out the Targus

What usb hubs would people recommend?

I use a Kensington USB dock with Serial and 10/00 Network connections......works fine.

You get what you pay for. Choose a USB hub that has high-speed controller chip(s) capable of processing low-speed channels without impacting simultaneous transfers on high-speed channels. Cheap hubs without controller chips will bottleneck simultaneous transfers on channels.

May I recommend the Belkin F5U237?
