does the M1530 have the GDDR3 Version of the 8600M GT?
-
No one knows...yet.
-
Doesn't it have a 8400M GT? That's what they said on engadget.
-
Nope, either 8400GS or 8600GT.
My 1530 should be here next week and I will post a review (I'll also look at the memory and try to determin if it is DDR3).... -
ncie XPs collection u got there.
It should b DDR2 cause it's cheaper for dell. DDR3 might be a plus, waiting for the review. -
Well, if the memory clock is 700MHz than it is most likely DDR3 (a relative 1400MHz clock). Likewise, if the mem clock is 500MHz, it is probably DDR2 (with a relative clock of 1000MHz).
About the "XPS collection" - I need to update my sig once the 1530 gets here because the 1330 is going to be gone (SOLD) -
-
I'm on my third replacement and it is not working out good for me so maybe I'll have better luck with the 1530
-
ok this is just my view, but i think tht xps 1530 has the ddr2 256 mb version which we see in 1720,1520 and asus f8. Why ?
because i just now configured the 1530 and the diff. between 128 mb 8400-gs and the 256 mb 8600-gt was 100$ which is the same price diff. tht u get between the 128mb 8400-gs and the ddr2 256mb 8600-gt on the 1520/1720.
Now I knw tht the 256 gddr3 version is the most expensive of the lot, even more expensive thn the 512 mb ddr2 version as can be seen while customising the asus c90. so why wud dell charge same money to upgrade frm 128mb 8400gs to gddr3 8600gt as upgrading frm 8400-gs to the 256 mb ddr2 8600 gt ?? -
There is already a thread about this.
Summarizing the whole thread : no one knows yet -
I would be very surprised if Dell used the 8600GT GDDR3, but I doubt it. Reason being is that, it's already very late in the game, so instead of opting for the GDDR3, they may be focusing on the 'next gen' of the 8800m's. I know ASUS(The reigning 15.4" "gaming" notebook) should be jumping up in terms of graphical power, what's the point of the 1530 going up to something that should already be considered 'old'.
Of course, if it did have the GDDR3, I wouldn't be THAT surprised(Did I just contradict myself?), since it's Dell, and they could do it pretty easily...
does M1530 have GDDR3 GPU
