Can the fingerprints be cleaned easily from the lid? Or is it a troublesome task?

I bet the black looks a lot better than the white would, given the same amount of dirt.

The black is easy to clean but it does pick up oily prints easily. The white on the other hand is a glossy finish rather than flat like the black or red. It doesn't pick up dirt so easily.

Could you please elaborate? I like the white color best but I keep thinking it'll get dirty really quickly because it's white, but is the finish different in a way that makes it easier to keep clean?

I haven't had a problem keeping my white 1720 clean. If the finish is the same on the M1330, the white is probably the least trouble to keep clean. The glossy finish is easier to wipe off than the Microsatin finish and the white doesn't show fingerprints. The rubbery texture of the Microsatin finish seems to make it harder to clean. And if some idiot happens to write on your red Microsatin with a ball point pen, it's there forever. At least with the black, you don't see the ink.

The white has a slick finish just like that of the macbooks. So it's not pourous like the black or red satin finish. Although, it's hard to see prints on the red still. The white, like chelet said is probably easiest to clean because of the glossy finish.

Cool, I don't mind cleaning as long as it's actually effective to do so. Thanks for the feedback ... I think I'm going to get it in white now.

Fingerprints/oil isn't as easy to notice on my red m1330 but you can still see them if your at an angle and the light catches them. A few wipes with the microfiber cloth usually gets rid of them though.

hmmm maybe put a clear plastic coating over to protect. Like a giant clear plastic sticker. Then it would have a glossy look. but not sure where you could get this...

Excuse me for asking these. But is the finish on the white and the red lid is different? I heard they are both microsatin finish. Illegal Operation said that the white finish is glossy. If that true I will be confused to choose the color of my m1330, glossy white is elegant, but the red one looks cool. Arghh...

The white finish is glossy. It's a copy of the white macbook finish. The black and red are both matte finishes. They are all painted with the microsatin paint. The red is by far the coolest of the colours however might not match what you have. I went black for the simple fact I love black and tend to wear alot of it.
