I orderd my vostro with webcam, does it also come with a mic, cuz im pretty sire i cant find one!!
-
yes ive asked this before (twice in fact
) and they have comfired like 20 times that it does have a mic on the left and right of the webcam, but it comes without a webcam also
-
Hmm i wonder why it doesnt work then?
-
Mine came default with no volume on mic, had to turn it up then it recognized stuff I said. Doesn't seem to work with BF2 though.
-
yeh but when i click on recording devices it doesn't come up? are there drivers for a mic?
-
Nah theres no drivers for a mic there!
-
Actually there is, unless your using the 64 bit version of Windows Ultimate...for which I used the 32bit one and it works fine.
EDIT: BTW did you overlock your 8600M GT? I only get 2900 with mine on Ultimate x64 -
what works fine the mic or u talking about drivers?
Yeh I oc'd mine to 630 clock and 525 mem -
-
Yeh i have the webcam drivers installed and working fine, its the mic that doesnt work!!
-
-.- Go to the webcam console-->Tools-->Audio Source Control. Turn the volume all the way up.
-
Is there a mic if there's no webcam then?
-
Even if your Vostro didn't come with a webcam, you still have the mic. It's above your LCD monitor (the two holes next to the latch.
-
hmmm...my mic also doesn't seem to work. I tried the "sound hardware test wizard". At first, no noise came from the speakers (when the mic was being tested) then, I heard static, but not my voice. Is there something wrong?
-
yeh when i do that sound thing in the web cam manager it comes up on max, but there is no device present!
-
After reformmating today, I reinstalled it with the CD that came with my computer for the webcam. Then turned volume up on Sound Recorder and it works. My microphone shows up as part of Sigmatel Audio. Maybe try reinstalling the webcam program not just drivers (should have came with your laptop).
-
Alright ill giv it a shot thnx
-
ok i tryed that, and still no mic!! u think i should giv dell a call?
-
The mic is part of the sound card, not the webcam.
And it does not work properly without one application installed - IntelliSonic Speech Enhancement.
XP Version - http://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R160671.EXE
This is only for windows XP.
Mine is working just fine. -
So that wont work with vista?
-
I haven't tried with Vista, but on Dell's website it shows only the audio driver, but not the app I mentioned in my previous post.
Let me try then. -
Works perfectly for me. Here is the exact driver - Driver
Writing this from Vista -
My mic on 1400 works and I hear my voice and everything but I also hear some static sounds and weird noises when I record.... Does everybody have this issue?
