Hey,
I have been reading on forums about playing games on the xps m170 and have heard that the dvd-rw burner does not play games? And that dell does not help you with this? They say to get the NEC dvd-rw Burner if anything? Im very confused can some one tell me from experience if they have had problems?

There definitely shouldn't be a problem - is it all games, burned games...etc? Or maybe it doesn't play DVD-9 based games?

I heard it was just battlefield 2 I think. here is a link to where theres a forum of people having problems with there drive. It looks like the only solution they found was getting a new drive. Please help

I have the m170, and it has no issues at all. -
After a few months, my Sony drive stopped reading certain disks. It is definitely a common problem. All you can really do is call for a replacement if it starts to mess up on you. I had to have them send me the NEC
