    Hey,

I have been reading on forums about playing games on the xps m170 and have heard that the dvd-rw burner does not play games? And that dell does not help you with this? They say to get the NEC dvd-rw Burner if anything? Im very confused can some one tell me from experience if they have had problems?

There definitely shouldn't be a problem - is it all games, burned games...etc? Or maybe it doesn't play DVD-9 based games?

Provide more detail and we'll see if we can help out.

    There is no problem

I have the m170, and it has no issues at all.

After a few months, my Sony drive stopped reading certain disks. It is definitely a common problem. All you can really do is call for a replacement if it starts to mess up on you. I had to have them send me the NEC

The other DVD-RW brand that Dell ships the m170s with. Some get a Sony, some get an NEC. The Sonys suck
