    just received my vostro 1400, battery is a bit lose but not a huge deal for me, the screen is clear, not grainny at all, though there are a little light leakage but only visable at black screen. however been a complete computer noob and fresh to vista, i can seem to get "my computer" icon out, and i cant seem to find add/remove program in control pannel, help guys?

    start>mycomputer>rightclick it and show on desktop.

    add/remove = programs and features.

    lol thanks guys, i figured those out, and when i tried to check my monitor, it says gneric pnp, and i dont see a further option to check the company name, help?

    It was only a couple of weeks ago that I finally really had a good chance to look at Vista on a friends new Laptop, and I think it will take a little getting used too. As even I had to look a few times for add/remove programs.

    And I have been unable to find some other things yet that were in XP. So when my new laptop comes with Vista, it may take some time getting used too.

    device manager-> Monitors-> Generic PnP-> right click, properties-> details tab-> Property dropdown menu to Hardware Ids.
