hey, on my E1505, i got the 256 radeon card, and i'm using dual monitor displays (the laptop screen and my CRT). sometimes when i'm working on my lappy, the monitors will "bug" out. like it looks like the monitor is resetting or something. and each of the monitors will do it, but not at the same time.

does anyone know what the problem is?

    thanks.

Did you try updating the display drivers?

What do you mean by "bug" out. I've had my external monitor give me a hard time by lagging and freezing up but I have the integrated graphics(Bought my E1505 before they had dedicated in it) and I was doing more graphic stuff then it could handle I think.

It's like it's trying to refresh or something. Remember those TV's when there's no singal and you get snow? Well, I get snow for a split second.

    I have the same problem.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=95393&highlight=glitch

Reinstalling the OS from MCE to XP Pro seemed to helped some, but did not totally solve it.

I'm going to have to sell the laptop over this issue. I use dual monitors all the time and feed live Powerpoint to projectors.

When I drag a window to the external monitor, it is all garbled sometimes.

So, basically, this laptop has failed me, and I have spent an awful lot of time with Dell support and they do not know what the issue is.

They replaced the video card. No effect.

They wanted to replace the motherboard. I was like, balls. Send me a new laptop, this one has never worked right and now you are basically coming to my crib and turning my lappy into a refurb before my very eyes.

They want me to send it to depot for "special service" which would take about 1-2 weeks, and it's an intermittent problem, so, there is no guarantee that they will be dilligent enough to replicate the problem. I said send me a new laptop. They said they only do that if they don't know what the issue is. I said, yo, that's the situation we are facing here. They wanted me to send it in to depot for special service. Never again with the Dell for me.

My first E1505 suffered a total VGA out port failure. This one is the replacement for that one and it glitches.

    Lame.

I've tried 3 types of drivers (Dell, Omega, ATi mobility), reinstalled the OS, spent hours on chat with Dell doing the same stupid diagnostics over and over again.

Is the monitor plugged in? Is the monitor turned on? Yawn.
