    Hi,

I'm probably going to buy a Inspiron e1405 (640m in Canada) and can't decide between the 6-cell and the 9-cell battery. I would like to know what is the difference in battery life and weight between the two.

    Thanks,
    siera

Since no one with a 640m has replied yet……
I have a 630m with 9 cell; identical design but with Pentium M processor and integrated graphics. I usually get around 6.5 hrs out of that opposed to around 4 hrs from standard 6 cell battery (according to user and pro reviews). I guess it would be more or less the same for a 640m. Weight is not that noticeable around extra 150g. But the extended battery sticks out from the back about 3/4ths of an inch which is fairly noticeable.

I LOVE MY E1405 :D .. am using the 9 cell, get about 7.5 hours, depending on brightness of screen and whether you want to turn off your wireless .. some complain about the "look" of the battery sticking out of the back of the laptop .. it's MINIMAL and does not add any weight at all to the machine/compared to the extended battery life function .. I recommend the 9 cell .. you won't be sorry ..

    CW :)

PS .. am not running Vista yet, so total battery time will then diminish I guess ..
