    e1405/640m can't flash bios

    I've downloaded the newest version of the bios (A04) but I can't flash my bios.

    I double click on the .exe, I heard a wav from Windows but I see nothing... what am I doing wrong?

    You need to follow the instructions and flash from a floppy (usb one of course).

    Had the same problem, and this was the only way i could get it to flash.

    Then i hope you like the A03 BIOS ;)

    You can make bootable discs and flash from a disc too. I've never done it, but it's possible.

    You could probably flash it if you put the file on a USB drive and set the bios to boot from the USB first.

    That also might work. But just putting the BIOS on the flash won't work, you'll need to make that flash drive bootable to DOS, and type in the flash command from the Dell site.
